Instrumenti is a panda duo made in Europe that consists of an ever-changing cast of members originating from different parts of the world.
Their sound is a mix of Björk, Michael Jackson & Sigur Rós – it’s colorfully emotional and excitingly dreamy. Plus – they wear Panda masks on stage, making them look super cute while doing their thing. Instrumenti’ voices are angelic and music – positively mindblowing.
Originally a two-piece combo from the Baltic States — Shipsi on keyboads/vocals and Reynsi on drums/guitars/vocals —, the outfit soon grew far more international, as visual artists and co-musicians from Sweden, Finland, France and Iceland joined the project. Lately Instrumenti have reaped fame in a bunch of Eastern European countries, France, Italy and Scandinavia with their single "Life Jacket under Your Seat". They’ve been called the biggest sensation in both the Norwegian as well as the Baltic music scene in 2009. Live performances by Instrumenti are always a spectacular adventure for the audience. In addition to brilliant artistic and vocal skills, pandas always surprise their listeners with extraordinary attitude and creative ways of acting on stage. Usually the set includes various elements of special effects — pandas reveal their alpinism skills (combined with pyrotechnics), engage in moon-walking, and bring crowd-surfing to a whole next level.
Instrumenti have just come back from South by Southwest, leaving Texas a bit sad, longing for the pandas to come back and lighten up their day.
Last year Instrumenti released Pandemiya EP containing four singles and a video, a full length debut album is planned for this summer.
