本剧叙述一群同志男女在美国匹斯堡的生活。剧情重心由原来3位男主角之间的三角关系发展至他们的生活。朋友与家庭。同志的生活悲喜。自第一季美国版Queer As Folk上演后，该电视剧被誉为：一部绝对吸引眼球的电视，没有自卑，没有自我标榜，客观的有喜有恨，自然的有欢有悲。写实的手法，一样有爱的缠绵，性的放纵。友情，性，生活。
而这五张电视原声也很好的勾勒出几年来这部独一无二的电视剧所走过的人生.开篇第一季以HEATHER SMALL的PROUD唱出主题,而收尾的第五季也以这首歌作最后的告别---剧中也是这样,从巴比伦开始从巴比伦结束.几年来的悲欢离合,物是人非,事过境迁都在这些歌声中化为记忆.
同志的PARTY向来是舞曲音乐先行地--从七,八十年代开始的DISCO,80年代的吉他舞曲,到90年代的TECHNO,90年代末的HOUSE,BREAKBEAT,JUNGLE,DRUM & BASS, BIG BEAT等等.这五张原声也收录了很多这样的作品,比如Katty B版的Let's Hear It For The Boy,DISCO女王KIM ENGLISH的作品,以及法国新浪潮电音运动DAFT PUNK的 Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger ,碎拍,车库,HOUSE相结合的BASEMENT JAXX,BIG BEAT先锋CHEMICAK BROTHERS的作品. 更不用说大量未被收录在原声中的片中电音了.
当然还是有缺憾.第一季结尾BRIAN和JUSTIN在PROM上跳舞时的背景音乐save the last dance for me就没有收录,还有JUSTIN和ETHAN接吻时背景THE CURE的LOVE SONG也没有收录.不论怎样,这几张原声都还是优秀的选集.
虽然QAF已渐渐远去,但显然在整个影史上自有它的地位.而我们作为见证的一份子,是幸运的.
