出生于80年代的瑞典小伙子们，Björn Dixgård（vol、gt）、Gustaf Norén（vol、gt）、Carl-Johan Fogelklou（bass）、Samuel Giers（drums）和Mats Björke（keyboards）五人组成了现在的Mando Diao。
五人均来自瑞典一个工业城市Borlänge，一个被誉为"the ugliest town in Sweden"的城市，那里吸毒率以及犯罪率特高，且学校内潜藏着不少帮派人士，就在这样的环境成长下，Mando Diao的音乐无疑带着一份浓厚的Garage的韵味。1995年时，band leader的Björn就曾在当时的Butler内担任vocal并开始有了组成Mando Diao的意念，当1999年Samuel从瑞典的一地下哥特乐队脱离出来后，已有Björn、Gustaf以及C-J的Mando Diao吸纳了Samuel，首次以这个毫无意义的乐队名字出现。乐队成员主要被Metallica、G'n'R、Beatles、Nirvana等乐队影响，其自身的歌曲中也和这些乐队的音乐有着不少相似的元素。而Mando Diao更为受人关注的，还是那复古的音乐，他们于debut album[Bring 'Em In]里面，有60年代感觉的British R&B风格的作品，且时至今日他们在gt的riff还是那样的硬朗。
