一个好友推荐我听Thirteen Senses的首张大碟的时候，兴奋地说比去年英伦新锐团体Keane还动听，于是找来这张唱片。去年因为Keane以钢琴替代吉他的新鲜之举大获成功之后，我也猜想英国必定会有类似的团体跟着发片，果然就来了这队Thirteen Senses。对他们的背景不算了解，网络里也一直没有得到更全面的资讯，去年9月发表首张专辑《The Invitation》的这队英国新团，似乎还没有引起更广泛的关注。
因为之前有朋友拿来与Keane相比，听的时候也就不那么客观。其实Thirteen Senses这样的乐队，若没有Keane在之前那么风光，的确有望进入2004年英国一线。不过有了Keane在商业上的成功，Thirteen Senses的歌曲就显得不那么流行了。他们的音乐在制作上将钢琴做为主要的Groove进程元素，不知道是不是受到Keane的启发，不过象类似的编曲之前也有惨兮兮的Starsailor，只是Thirteen Senses在吉他方面的表现仍旧会让人觉得他们是一支不折不扣的吉他乐队。虽说他们的歌曲不那么流行，但绝对悦耳清新，也因少有过于易记的旋律反而会令人在听觉上不容易疲劳。相比Keane的过耳不忘来，Thirteen Senses更耐听。主唱的歌声会令我想起那队不太有建树的Geneva来，英国腔调在indie乐迷来说，无论唱成什么样都会觉得亲切，更何况 Thirteen Senses的歌声那么单纯清澈。音乐中松弛的节奏，悠扬美艳的吉他，绝对不容indie乐迷错过。
