来自挪威的天才女歌手Radka Toneff7岁学习钢琴，并在奥斯陆接受系统的音乐教育。她于1976年和另外四位音乐家组成一个五人乐队，开始了自己短暂的音乐生涯。通过参加当时欧洲的一些爵士音乐节和电视节目，她逐渐成长为一个爵士音乐家、歌手、钢琴演奏家和作曲家。
她的歌声时而低回飘渺，时而空灵清透，配上同样深邃幽扬的钢琴，就像是一弯涓涓细流载着一叶小舟缓缓前行，于是我终于明白什么是真正的天籁之音，什么叫摄人心魄。她是在用她的生命，她的灵魂来完成绝响！看到这里你应该能想到，拥有如此清莹纯净声音的这位女歌手已经香消玉殒了。《The Moon is a Harsh Mistress》来自她最后一张专辑《Fairytales》 ，录完这张专辑之后她就因感情问题自缢了，时年1982，年仅30岁。
